Fourteen acres,
two dogs
And one person who keeps the books. Outside Sharpsburg, Washington County, Maryland.
Sheep because the dogs needed them.
Reggie started keeping sheep because the dogs needed them, and kept keeping them because other people's dogs did too. A big lower field for dog work, a sacrifice lot for winter, the upper pasture for grass, hay from November to April regardless.
The farm sits on Marsh Run, a short walk from the C&O Canal, on ground that has been grazed for a long time.

The name.
The Maryland Line held at Long Island so the rest of the Continental Army could get away. That is where Maryland got its nickname, the Old Line State, and where the farm got its name.
It is also, in a small way, the whole job of a stockdog: get between the stock and where it wants to go, and stay there.
